Art > Pieced Quilts

The Pieced Quilt series stems in my interest in an art form that traditionally has been practiced by women. Pieced Quilts, also called patchwork quilts, were often a tale of transformation. Cloth scraps or discarded clothing became intricately patterned, functional works of art. I created my first glass quilt when I had a number of leftover fruit mixes, like scraps of material, and realized that these were the basis for creating "luminous quilts".
